A name you’ll see here often
Months ago, when I started looking for information on creativity and the creative process, I actually found more research than I had anticipated. I found journal articles and website postings that provided me with facts on the topic I never even realized I was looking to find.
The variety of research was comforting. However, all the pieces of information I came across did seem to have one thing in common: Theresa Amabile.
Ms. Amabile’s work on creativity has sparked the attention the subject deserves. In more than 30 years of research, she has studied all aspects of creativity, focusing heavily on how the work environment influences creativity.
A personal note: I am truly inspired by Ms. Amabile’s work. Anyone who takes the time to explore the magical process of how we create is invited to my house for dinner any time. However, she’s done more than just investigate the creative process, she’s put it into perspective - a perspective that so many people fail to see because of the very creative barriers she writes about.
Yeah, I don’t think I can stress just how many times you will see the name Theresa Amabile posted on this blog.
